Salt Lake Temple Open House Celebration - Volunteers Needed

Deadline to apply: End-of-day Tuesday 18 Aug 2026!

The Salt Lake Temple Open House Celebration Committee is producing a one-of-a-kind, immersive, large-format aerial film that captures the breathtaking beauty of temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints around the world and explores their sacred role as beacons of hope, peace, and divine guidance through life's greatest joys and deepest trials.

The film will premiere at the Legacy Theater and screen throughout the Salt Lake Temple open house before being released to audiences worldwide. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an extraordinary production celebrating temples, faith, and the light they bring into the lives of people everywhere.

Saturday, September 5th, we will need several hundred people of all ethnicities to participate in some beautiful flyover shots. Volunteers may choose to sign-up for 4, 6, or 8 hours. Those who stay longer will be seen more closely.

NEEDED: Adults, teens and children age 7 and older.
(All minors under 16 must be accompanied by at least one parent.) Families are especially welcome! We wish to represent God's children all over the world and attire representative of participant's cultural heritage is welcomed and requested!

Would you be willing to share this request with members of your congregation as soon as possible, please?

Deadline to apply: End-of-day Tuesday 18 Aug 2026!

The Opportunity
Seminary Teacher Opportunity

There is a crucial need currently for Adapted Needs and Spanish class teachers.

Those desiring to be considered for a calling as a seminary or institute instructor must:

  • Have a current temple recommend
  • Be approved by both the bishop and stake president
  • Have a testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ and His restored gospel
  • Be comfortable teaching and testifying of gospel doctrine and principles
  • Be able to serve 8-10 hours per week
  • Have a monthly check-in with your S&I coordinator
  • Be able to serve for a minimum of 12 months, but longer is preferred

Due to the time commitment, it is recommended that members and leaders counsel together to determine if it would be appropriate for members to be released from other callings or to keep their current calling if they desire.

Stake-called teachers are trained prior to teaching and mentored throughout their entire experience.
