Ward Resources Survey

Brothers and Sisters,

Our focus in August has been on getting back to the basics. One basic principle is taught in the hymn, "As I have loved you, love one another." There are many needs around us, many who desire to feel of the Savior's love. As Bishop, I feel a great burden to address those needs. One way we can do that is through the Bishop's Storehouse where those who may have a financial need can use the storehouse to obtain food.

However, I would propose that the Bishop's Storehouse can be expanded to include our talents, skills, abilities and resources to help those in need (see D&C 82:18-19)... "that every man may improve upon his talent,  yea, even an hundred fold, to be cast into the Lord’s storehouse...every man seeking the interest of his neighbor, and doing all things with an eye single to the glory of God"

As a Ward Council, we would like to better understand your talents, interests, skills and resources. This information will be used to better minister to and serve the needs of our ward and neighborhood. A ministering brother or sister may reference this information to find someone who can fix a leaking faucet. A young women's class may reach out to someone on this list to teach them how to ride horses. Or perhaps someone needs a chainsaw to cut up their tree that has just fallen. Whatever it is, we are seeking to understand these unique skills, interests and resources that exist within our ward.

I would appreciate if you would please take 5-10 minutes to complete this survey. If there is something you do not feel comfortable making known for the purpose I've explained, please leave it out of your survey response…

Love, Bishop Horner

Newsletter Submissions

Email newsletter submissions to Sister Thurman before the last Thursday of the month!

Getting a Reimbursement From the Ward

Members may have their Organization Leader submit the reimbursement on their behalf, or fill out the online form, print and attach your receipts, get authorization signatures and turn it in.

Organization presidencies may now submit payment requests in Member Tools.  They will see a new finance menu with a "Payment Requests" option.  This new feature allows users to take a photo of receipts with their phone's camera and submit payment requests for their organization.

This feature is also available in Leader and Clerk Resources.  Organization presidencies have access to a finance menu.  After clicking Finance, users should click the Payment Request tab to enter the payment request.  They can then upload receipts or drag and drop them from an email.

Getting a Reimbursement From the Stake

If you need to get reimbursed for an expense you paid for on behalf of the Stake, you can now submit your expense through the stake website's reimbursement page.  Just fill out the form and upload your scanned receipts, and the Stake Financial Clerk will get back to you.  This form is used only for stake reimbursements at this time.

You will need to have your ChurchOfJesusChrist.org account up for Electronics Funds Transfer (EFT).  Instructions are found on the reimbursement page, click on the "Set Up a Reimbursement Account" tab for more details.  Note: Setting this up will help our ward financial clerk get your ward reimbursements back to you faster as well.  You will still submit your expenses to the ward clerks the same way you always have.
