• If you can believe it, it is time again for Tithing Declarations. Bishop Larisch is excited to be able to meet with each of you so please use the link provided to sign up for a time to complete your tithing declarations.

• Temple Recommend Interviews right after the block each Sunday by the clerk's office.

• The Stake Presidency holds Temple Recommend Interviews the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays from 3 pm - 4 pm

Stake Announcements

• Parking at the Stake Center - For safety reasons, the stake presidency invites you to please park in the parking lot at the Stake Center instead of parking on the street east of the building.
• Stake Blood Drive - Thursday, November 5, 1 to 7 PM - 12830 S 2700 W (Building 11) Sign up at https://www.redcrossblood.org
• Emergency Preparedness Mini-Classes - Saturday, November 7, 10 to 11 AM - Stake Center Relief Society and Primary rooms - There will be two 30-minute classes on off-grid cooking and food preservation.

• Note: The third week of each month is Ward Temple Week.  Attend any session you can during the week. Our ward focus will be the Wednesday 6:30 pm Endowment Session. Additionally, you may want to focus on the monthly invitation during Ward Temple Week.

Emergency Preparedness

Action Plan for October: Lighting

Many disasters and emergencies can cause a loss of electrical power. It is important to include in all emergency kits and around your home various forms of light for safety and mental/emotional health.

Plan:

• Download this Emergency Communication Packet Click Here 

• Review the lighting options for short term and longer term needs
• Check out the links and choose options that work best for you.
• Resources are at the Bottom of the Page

Prepare:

• Start or Update your Emergency Lighting for your Home and Disaster Kits. .
• Put flashlights, batteries, and chemical glow sticks in easy access areas
• Have a flashlight or rechargeable nightlight near each bed for safety
• Have emergency chargers/ battery packs for mobile phones and rechargeable lighting
• For longer term outages consider alternate power sources such as solar lanterns or generators

Practice:

• Make sure you and your family is familiar and comfortable using the emergency lighting solutions you choose. Once it is dark, it is often very difficult to fumble around trying to find and use the lighting.

• Have a “Lights Out” event where you practice how to use the lighting and what you will do.

Addiction Recovery Program

Addiction’s destructive behaviors negatively affect not only the addicted individual but their loved ones. The Church’s “Addiction Recovery Program” and its accompanying “Help for Spouses and Family Program” shares steps and principles of hope, guidance and healing available to each of us through the Savior’s Atonement. Anonymous, confidential and understanding help is available in weekly meetings that can be found by opening this link. We welcome you in joining others who started this healing path before you.
